Barcelona's plans to generate funds by selling Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and Samuel Umtiti are in danger of falling apart due to the trio's poor injury records.

Barça's financial woes have been well documented in the last couple of years and they were forced to move on a number of high-profile players last summer in a bid to trim their wage bill.

Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic all left Camp Nou for next to nothing (in relative terms anyway) though the club are still struggling to balance the books.

La Liga president Javier Tebas recently claimed Ronald Koeman's side risk being unable to register Lionel Messi next season - if their talisman signs a new deal that is - if they don't reduce their wage bill and subsequently abide by the league's salary cap.

Barça had hoped to raise some money by selling a number of their high-profile players who'd been deemed surplus to requirements, with Dembele, Coutinho and Umtiti all up for sale.

However, their plans look to have been scuppered with Sport reporting that any potential suitors for the aforementioned players are reluctant to table a bid due to their patchy injury records.

Dembele was recently forced to withdraw from France's Euro 2020 squad after picking up a knee injury in the second half of Didier Deschamps' side's draw with Hungary. The forward is now due to undergo surgery yet there's no official news on how long he could be out for.

Coutinho has been linked with a move back to the Premier League in recent time with both Everton and Arsenal monitoring the Brazilian. He too has been plagued by setbacks in recent times and is yet to make a single appearance for Barcelona this calendar year due to a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Koeman had been hoping to offload Umtiti this summer, with the Frenchman attracting interest from Manchester United. However, it remains to be seen whether they'll cash in on the defender given his wretched injury record in recent times.
