Barcelona host Villarreal in their final La Liga fixture of the season on Sunday night.

A weakened side played out a disappointing 0-0 draw with lowly Getafe last time out, although that result did follow a run of three consecutive victories in which La Blaugrana sealed their runner-up finish for the campaign.

They conclude the season with a home tie against a Villarreal side with it all to play for, sitting inside the European places but just one point above Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona predicted lineup vs Villarreal (4-3-3)

GK: Marc-Andre ter Stegen - Will certainly start between the sticks having kept six clean sheets in his last 12 La Liga outings.

RB: Dani Alves - His seamless return to Barcelona should continue with a fifth consecutive start.

CB: Ronald Araujo - Missed out on the goalless draw with Getafe due to a concussion but should make a timely return with both Gerard Pique and Eric Garcia likely to be absent.

CB: Clement Lenglet - Will likely retain his spot due to defensive shortages, potentially making successive league starts for the first time this season.

LB: Jordi Alba - Back from suspension and certainly back in the side.

DM: Sergio Busquets - Remarkably, the ageing skipper has only been kept out of the starting lineup this term through suspension.

CM: Frenkie de Jong - The Dutchman is also back available after suspension and should come back into the XI in place of Riqui Puig.

CM: Gavi - It's been a superb maiden campaign in the senior side for the teenager, who is set for his 34th league appearance on the final day.

RW: Ousmane Dembele - His future is mightily uncertain as things stand but Dembele should come back into the side with Memphis Depay likely sidelined.

ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - The goals have slightly dried up since hitting the ground running after his arrival but Aubameyang still boasts 11 strikes in 16 La Liga appearances.

LW: Ferran Torres - Has had a debut half-season of ups and downs but the Spaniard is in line for a 12th consecutive league start.
