Xavi will be keen to end Barcelona's winless run as they welcome Elche to Camp Nou in La Liga this weekend.

Barça were stung by a late Osasuna equaliser last time out, and now face the possibility of going into the winter break outside of the European spots.

Xavi has been rocked by injuries in recent weeks to Memphis Depay and Jordi Alba, with his team selections reflecting a coach who is still unsure about his best starting lineup.

In fact, the new head coach resorted to using a rather unorthodox 3-6-1 formation against Osasuna and may be forced into playing such a system again.

Here's how he could go about his business against Elche.

Barcelona predicted lineup vs Elche - La Liga

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (GK) - Hasn't quite looked himself this season, which reflects Barcelona as a team.

Ronald Araujo (CB) - Versatile and can play in various positions across the defence.

Gerard Pique (CB) - Still a more than capable defender at his age, but the lack of protection in front of the Barca defence is undermining him.

Samuel Umtiti (CB) - Drafted back into the side last weekend after years in the wilderness under Ronald Koeman.

2. Wing-backs & midfielders

Sergio Busquets (DM) - Even in his advanced years the Spain international is still one of the best players on the pitch.

Ousmane Dembele (RWB) -
His final ball can often be his undoing, but his one-on-one ability is frightening.

Nico (CM) - Opened the scoring against Osasuna last weekend after being teed up by Gavi.

Gavi (CM) - Only 17-years-old but plays with the maturity of an experienced midfielder with a bundle of international caps.

Frenkie de Jong (AM) - Xavi seems to prefer the Dutchman's qualities higher up the pitch.

Ez Abde (LWB) - Quick, direct and capable of creating opportunities for Barcelona.

3. Forward

Luuk de Jong (ST) - The Dutchman must step up in the absence of Memphis Depay amid ongoing speculation that he could be swapped for Inter's Alexis Sanchez.
