Barcelona to play Chelsea in Women's Champions League final after beating PSG

Barcelona will face Chelsea in the Women's Champions League final after a Lieke Martens brace gave them a 2-1 win over Paris-Saint Germain on Sunday.

The scores were level at 1-1 after the first leg in France last weekend, with Barça getting the job done in the first half.

Martens' first goal came just eight minutes in. Latching onto a long pass played over the top of the PSG defence by Leila Ouahabi, the forward showed great composure to bend the ball into the top corner from inside the box.

On the half-hour mark, Barcelona were celebrating again. This time Martens arrived at the back post at the opportune moment to convert Caroline Hansen's whipped cross.

Just three minutes later, Les Parisiennes trimmed the lead to one through Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who forced the ball over the line after a goalmouth scramble.

After the break Barcelona pushed for another goal to completely kill the game. Jenni Hermoso - who scored in the first leg - forced a good save 20 minutes from time, while Marta Torrejon also went close. PSG meanwhile, struggled to rally with Barcelona holding out for the win.

The Blaugrana will meet Chelsea in the Champions League final after the Blues saw off Bayern Munich in the other semi-final. Fran Kirby grabbed a brace for the Blues, while Ji So-yun and Pernille Harder also scored to cancel out a fine strike from Sarah Zadrazil.

Neither Chelsea nor Barcelona have won the competition before. The Blues could even secure a Champions League double this season. Their men's side are currently in pole position going into the second leg of their semi-final against Real Madrid, securing a crucial away goal in a 1-1 draw last Tuesday.
