Barcelona will play their first Champions League fixture since that 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich back in August when they welcome Hungarian outfit Ferencvarosi to Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

Ronald Koeman is now in charge of the Catalan club following that humiliating loss, but many faces wearing the red and blue remain the same, including Lionel Messi.

Ferencvarosi's only other appearance in the group stage of Europe's elite competition came in the 1995/96 campaign, and they'll be hoping to mark their long-awaited return to the grandest of stages in style.

Philippe Coutinho and Ansu Fati were left out of the starting lineup for Saturday's fixture against Getafe but are expected to return in midweek. Brazilian shot-stopper Neto will retain his place between the sticks as regular number one Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains sidelined through injury.

Defender Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba will continue to keep the German keeper company on the treatment table with their respective issues keeping them out of this one, but Junior Firpo could come into the back-line after Sergino Dest made his debut at the weekend.

Tokmac Nguen is Ferencvarosi's danger man, the 26-year-old winger bagging seven goals in ten appearances so far this season. The Hungarian champions have no serious injury concerns, meaning former Liverpool keeper Adam Bogdan is expected to start on the bench.

Barcelona made a strong start to life under former Netherlands boss Koeman, picking up seven points from their first three La Liga games. However, Saturday's shock 1-0 defeat to Getafe leaves the Blaugrana in ninth position, albeit with two games in hand over early pacesetters Real Sociedad.

The La Liga giants are unbeaten in their last 36 home Champions League matches and will be confident of bouncing back with a good result before the first Clasico of the season on Saturday.

Ferencvarosi overcame Celtic at Parkhead before defeating Dinamo Zagreb and Molde to secure their place in the group stage. They have followed that impressive form across the continent up in their domestic league campaign with 13 points from their first five matches to top the table in the early stages of the season.

Ferencvarosi may be the first Hungarian side to reach this stage of the Champions League since 2009/10, but the level of opposition they have defeated en route shows they're no pushovers.
