Atletico Madrid could end Ronald Koeman's tenure as Barcelona manager with victory at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.

The Blaugrana are already planning for life after the Dutchman, and it's now a matter of when, and not if, they pull the trigger on their beleaguered boss.

Before he departs, Koeman must take his low on confidence Barça to an Atleti side probably still bouncing off the walls following their dramatic midweek win over AC Milan in the Champions League.

Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez were the heroes for los Colchoneros, and they are expected to front up against their former club - who come into the game after being mauled 3-0 by Benfica. It won't be pretty, but is likely to be a fun watch nonetheless.

Atletico Madrid team news

Atletico are without Thomas Lemar, who has missed the club's last four games with a muscle injury, but otherwise Diego Simeone has a fully fit squad to choose from.

That's likely to mean a front pairing of former Barça strikers Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann, supported by the on-rushing Rodrigo De Paul.

Barcelona team news

Barcelona's misery is compounded by an extensive injury list that now includes teenage prodigy Pedri.

Rushed back into the team to face Benfica, he's been ruled out of this game after aggravating his pre-existing thigh problem. Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite and Sergio Aguero are also sidelined, but Ansu Fati is raring to go after long-term injury - he could even start.

Jordi Alba is also fit again and is likely to replace United States international Sergino Dest, who looked painfully out of his depth in midweek playing on the opposite side to what is natural.

Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona predicted lineups

Atletico Madrid (3-5-2): Oblak; Savic, Gimenez, Hermoso; Llorente, Koke, Kondogbia, De Paul, Carrasco; Griezmann, Suarez.

Barcelona (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Mingueza, Pique, Araujo, Alba; Busquets, Gavi, F. De Jong; Coutinho, L. De Jong, Memphis.

Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona score prediction

Given the recent press surrounding the future of Koeman, you can probably guess which one of these sides is unbeaten in La Liga.

No, it's not Atletico Madrid, it's actually Barcelona!

Three wins and three draws are below the lofty standards of the club's hierarchy though, and they have been utterly dreadful in their two Champions League spankings.

Atleti, meanwhile, are just plodding along in typical Diego Simeone fashion. They're not scoring many goals, they're not conceding many, and they're still dropping points when they really shouldn't - but weirdly, they are still a good side.

This one should go the way of the hosts but it's absolutely going to be a grind.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Barcelona
