Atletico Madrid travel to Old Trafford for the first time since 1991 this week to face Manchester United in the Champions League.

The aggregate score-line of the last 16 tie is currently level at 1-1 after the first leg in Madrid last month when Joao Felix headed Los Rojiblancos into the lead.

It hasn't been a great season for Atleti in defence of their La Liga title, but a recent flurry of wins despite mounting injury problems should mean confidence in the squad is high.

This is the starting XI that Diego Simeone could pick for this one...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Jan Oblak (GK) - It hasn't been his best season and he will know he could have done more to save Anthony Elanga's equaliser in the first leg.

Stefan Savic (CB) - This will be his first time playing at Old Trafford, having missed out during his Manchester City days a decade ago.

Felipe (CB) - Wasn't in the squad for the first leg after an earlier European suspension but injuries will hand him a place here.

Reinaldo (CB) - Has alternated between centre-back and left-back since his arrival from Lille and is set to play in the former on Tuesday.

2. Midfielders & wing-backs

Marcos Llorente (RWB) - Not having the kind of stunning season he had in 2020/21, but a constantly changing role hasn't helped that.

Rodrigo de Paul (CM) - Left on the bench for the first leg but scored his first La Liga goal for the club at the weekend and should be full of confidence.

Koke (CM) - Got 45 minutes under his belt against Cadiz after recovering from the muscle injury that ruled him out of the first leg against United.

Hector Herrera (CM) - Has become a more regular starter in recent weeks and would be expected to continue in light of injuries to others.

Renan Lodi (LWB) - It was his cross that led to Atletico's first leg goal, while he also scored twice himself in a league game a few days later.

3. Forwards

Antoine Griezmann (ST) - Came off the bench in the first leg after overcoming an injury but has started Atletico's last two league games.

Joao Felix (ST) - Scored a spectacular bullet header in the first leg and has been in fine form in front of goal in recent weeks.
