Atlanta United fixtures: Next six games after Toronto FC draw

Atlanta United will look to push into the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference with the upcoming six games on their schedule.
Though Atlanta United may not be at the top of the East at the moment, the next six games on their schedule with give them a tremendous opportunity to climb the table.
With Thiago Almada in MVP form and a strong backline that includes the United States Men’s National Team standout Miles Robinson, head coach Gonzalo Pindea and the Five Stripes will look to continue the momentum during these next few weeks.
Here is what lies in store for them after drawing with Toronto FC.
1. Atlanta United vs. Chicago Fire - MLS (4/23/23 - 4:30 PM EST)
Atlanta will kick off the first of their next six games with a match-up against the Chicago Fire.
The last time these two teams played, the game ended in a 0-0 draw, with both teams struggling to create meaningful chances.
The Five Stripes will head into this latest game sitting at third in the Eastern Conference with fourteen points through seven games.
Chicago will look to continue their good start to the season as they sit ninth in the East with two wins and three draws through seven games played.
2. Atlanta United vs. Memphis 901 FC - US Open Cup (4/26/23 - 7:30 PM EST)
Atlanta will then take on USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC in the US Open Cup.
The Five Stripes crashed out of the tournament last year with a 3-0 loss to Nashville SC; this year, they’ll look to improve upon that result.
Memphis 901 are in free fall as they sit last in the USL Championship Eastern Conference and has yet to win a game all season.
Heading into this game, Atlanta will be the firm favorite to win the match.
3. Nashville SC vs. Atlanta United - MLS (4/29/23 - 1:30 PM EST)
Next up, Atlanta United will head to GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee, to take on Eastern Conference rival Nashville SC.
The last time these two sides met, it ended in an exciting 2-2 draw that saw both teams get ample amount of shots on goal.
Nashville goes into this match with three wins on the season, sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference.
As playoff implications go, should Atlanta get an early season win over the men in gold, they’ll get a valuable three points off an opponent that could be fighting for a top-five spot when the year ends.
4. Inter Miami CF vs. Atlanta United - MLS (5/6/2023 - 7:30 PM EST)
After that, Atlanta will take on a struggling Inter Miami team. It will be the first time Josef Martinez will face his old club after being signed by the South Florida side after being bought out as a Designated Player.
In the last game these two teams played together, the Five Stripes dominated, sending Miami home with a 2-0 loss.
Goals scored by Luiz Araujo and Martinez sealed all three points for Atlanta.
They will look to repeat that result as they head down to Fort Lauderdale.
5. Atlanta United vs. Charlotte FC - MLS (5/13/23 - 7:30 EST PM)
It will be an all southern clash when Atlanta United takes on Charlotte FC.
The last match between these two teams came earlier in the season where a Caleb Wiley hattrick lead the Five Stripes to a win.
Charlotte have had a mediocre start to the season, only winning one of their first seven games and only scoring seven goals in the process.
Atlanta will look to capitalize on Charlotte’s poor form and try to get the victory.
6. Atlanta United vs. Colorado Rapids - MLS
Atlanta will wrap up their next six games with a match-up against the Colorado Rapids.
The Rapids have underperformed to start the year, only picking up six points through seven games.
The last time out between these two teams saw the Rapids pick up a 3-0 win in early March of 2022. Goals by Diego Rubio, Jonathan Lewis, and Andre Shinyashiki saw the Western Conference side get all three points.
Atlanta hopes not to repeat this result as they host Colorado at home.
