ATK Mohun Bagan head coach, Juan Ferrando has made a huge claim, revealing that it is impossible for their opponents to beat the Mariners on their home ground as they start their road to the AFC Cup 2022 qualification on Tuesday, 12 April.

Mohun Bagan are scheduled to face Sri Lankan side Blue Star SC in the Preliminary Round 2 of the qualifying playoffs on Tuesday, which will also mark the first time that they will be playing at the Salt Lake Stadium in the post-pandemic era.

Ferrando for his part is banking on the fans to support them during the game as he believes that the they will have a big role to play especially since they are playing at home.

"The experience last September-October with me and also my coaching staff was really amazing.  A lot of people have a passion for football here. I hope the atmosphere will be the same in this case because we are the coaches of the ATK Mohun Bagan now. I hope we will have a hundred percent support tomorrow. And the kind of amazing atmosphere we get in salt lake stadium it is impossible for the opponents to win here," he said during a press conference.

The Mariners for their part have a long road ahead of them if they are to qualify for the AFC Cup group stage. If they manage to get past Blue Star SC they will have to beat the winner of the other playoff tie between Abahani Limited Dhaka and Club Valencia of Maldives to reach the group stage where they will be placed in Group D alongside Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh, Maziya of Maldives and Hero I-League champions Gokulam Kerala.
