Arsenal will be looking to apply pressure to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table when they host Luton Town on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners played out a goalless draw with title rivals and reigning champions Manchester City at the weekend, a result which saw them surrender top spot to Jurgen Klopp's side. However, they will be aiming to get back to winning ways midweek when they face the 18th-placed Hatters.

Luton face a second trip to north London in four days having fallen to a late defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, with Rob Edwards' side suffering a similar fate in the 4-3 loss to Arsenal at Kenilworth Road back in December. The Hatters could move out of the relegation zone if they manage a point or more at the Emirates, depending on results elsewhere.

Mikel Arteta will be pleased with the options he currently has available to him, with only summer signing Jurrien Timber currently sidelined having torn his ACL on the opening day of the campaign.

The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira are all now available, with Arsenal having no excuses against Luton given the strength and depth of their team.

Arsenal may have very few injury woes heading into Wednesday's encounter, but the same certainly can't be said of struggling Luton. The Hatters have a mountain of fitness concerns, making their battle to beat the drop even more difficult.

At the back, captain Tom Lockyer is still unavailable after collapsing in December, while Amari'i Bell, Dan Potts, Gabriel Osho, Mads Andersen are all out injured. Reece Burke is a doubt after recently suffering a heel injury, as is Alfie Doughty who was withdrawn against Tottenham at the weekend.

Marvelous Nakamba is missing in the engine room and Albert Samibi Lokonga is also injured, although he wouldn't have been able to face his parent club anyway.

Chiedozie Ogbene is sidelined with a thigh problem and Jacob Brown is also still out after undergoing an operation in February. Tahith Chong was also taken off against Spurs with a knock, but could feature on Wednesday.

Arsenal vs Luton score prediction

A fully fit Luton side may have been able to cause Arsenal a few issues midweek, but the sheer volume of injuries means it should be a simple enough victory for the Gunners. The Hatters will find it tough to open up the most stubborn defence in the division, while only Burnley and Sheffield United have conceded more than them in the Premier League.

Arsenal do have a tricky trip to Brighton on Sunday and may use this opportunity to rotate a few players, although they will undoubtedly go strong for Luton's visit. Even a spirited display from the visitors shouldn't unsettle Arteta's side.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Luton
