Arne Slot has confirmed he will remain with Feyenoord this summer despite interest from Tottenham.

Slot has enjoyed a sensational season with Feyenoord, leading the team to the Eredivisie title, and was towards the top of Tottenham's wish list in their search for a new manager.

Spurs had spoken with Feyenoord to try and get a deal done but 90min understands compensation proved a real issue in negotiations. The Dutch side were prepared to demand £10m to part ways with Slot and a further £7.5m for his coaching team, who the boss refused to leave without.

Those talks have broken down and Slot has now confirmed he plans to stay with Feyenoord for now.

“I have heard a lot about the interest of other clubs in me,” Slot told the Algemeen Dagblad. “I am grateful for the appreciation that this expresses, but my wish is to stay with Feyenoord and continue to build on the foundations that have been laid over the past two seasons.

"There are no transfer talks going on and there have been none and yesterday's discussion was solely about a possible extension. All conversations with Feyenoord are only aimed at that. I look forward to the new season at Feyenoord.”

Tottenham have long stressed they do not have a favourite candidate and will continue to evaluate all their options.

Sources have confirmed to 90min Spurs still hold interest in a number of managers. Sporting CP's Ruben Amorim and former Spain boss Luis Enrique are both admired, while the likes of Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank, Marco Silva, Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter have all been discussed.
