Bayern Munich host Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday afternoon in a meeting between two Bundesliga sides operating in vastly contrasting realms of the table.

The Bavarian behemoths lead the league by nine points going into the final five games of the campaign. Arminia, conversely, start the weekend in the relegation play-off position, above Hertha Berlin by goal difference alone before the capital side's Saturday meeting with fellow strugglers Augsburg.

Here's all you need two know about this weekend's meeting between the pair.

Arminia team news

Arminia have had some bad luck with head injuries in April. Cedric Brunner had to be stretchered off after a nasty clash with Wolfsburg's Jonas Wind last weekend. Fortunately, the injury isn't nearly as severe as first expected.

However, he may have to sit out the visit of Bayern alongside striker Fabian Klos, who crashed into his own teammate with such force against Stuttgart that he needed surgery.

Fellow forward Florian Kruger is a doubt after limping off with a muscle injury against Wolfsburg while Sebastian Vasiliadis is carrying a knock.

Bayern team news

Despite boasting an almost fully fit squad, Julian Nagelsmann couldn't steer Bayern past Villarreal in the Champions League quarter-finals. Niklas Sule missed the second leg on Tuesday with the flu while rotation right-back Bouna Sarr continues to nurse a knee injury.

World Cup winning midfielder Corentin Tolisso may miss the rest of the campaign with a hamstring issue he sustained at the start of April.

His compatriot Lucas Hernandez - who returned from a fitness concern ahead of the knockout tie - was forced off against Villarreal with another physical problem moments before the Spanish side put themselves ahead on aggregate in the 88th minute.

Arminia vs Bayern head-to-head record

Arminia have only ever beaten Bayern five times in the Bundesliga - but four of those triumphs came on home turf. The East Westphalians have lost six of their last seven top-flight meetings against Bayern, memorably earning a 3-3 draw during a Munich snowstorm last season.

Bayern haven't been beaten by Arminia since September 2006, when a team which featured the club's current sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, and CEO, Oliver Kahn, lost 2-1 at the SchucoArena.

Arminia vs Bayern score prediction

For all the disappointment caused by Bayern's premature Champions League exit, that they were considered such heavy favourites to reach the final four is testament to the quality laced throughout their side.

Arminia, conversely, are doing remarkably well to still have their survival hopes intact. The Bundesliga's lowest scorers have a mid-table defensive record almost solely down to the heroics of their goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Fuelled by the ignominy of elimination, the attacking might of Bayern may well prove too much even for one of the division's best shot-stoppers.

Prediction: Arminia 0-2 Bayern
