Gabriela Cavallin has issued a fresh statement after Antony made his return to Manchester United first-team activities this week.

Cavallin is one of three women to have accused the winger of assault. He recently took a leave of absence from United in order to deal with these claims but rejoined training on Friday.

Antony met with Greater Manchester Police this week to discuss their ongoing investigation, while authorities in Sao Paulo are also looking into complaints against him.

With Antony returning to the United first-team fold, Cavallin's lawyers have released a new statement on behalf of their client.

The statement reads: "Gabriela Cavallin's attorneys inform that the crimes committed by the player are still being investigated by the Manchester Police and also the Brazilian Police, which is why we believe that he will soon be sent to court, where he will have to face a trial.

"It seems obvious to us that fallacies would be created with the intention of the team bringing him back to training."

Antony was not in United's matchday squad for their 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, though he was pictured at Old Trafford.

With Antony and fellow wide forward Jadon Sancho out of the first-team picture for much of September, Erik ten Hag cycled through a number of different options at right wing. He notably made increasing use of youngster Facundo Pellistri, shifted Bruno Fernandes out wide and even played a midfield diamond at points.

United return to action at home to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
