Antoine Griezmann Admits Barcelona 'Didn't Turn Up' in 3-0 Loss to Juventus

Antoine Griezmann has admitted Barcelona "didn't not turn up" during their 3-0 Champions League defeat to Juventus on Tuesday.
Barça's terrible start to the season continued against the Old Lady, with an early penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo and a tap-in from Weston McKennie putting the visitors 2-0 up inside 20 minutes. Despite Lionel Messi's best efforts, the Blaugrana struggled to get back into the game with Ronaldo adding another spot kick just after the break.
Aside from hitting the bar in the second half, Griezmann had little impact on proceedings and offered no excuses for his side's dire display after the game.
"We didn't turn up," he said (via Marca). "In the first half they got the better of us. It was a lack of everything: of desire, of attitude, willingness to run, all of it was bad.
"In the second half, there was already a three-goal advantage and it was easier for us but we had a bad day and a bad game. Who else can be blamed if we are the ones who play? We have to work on this and want to improve, want to play, and only in this way are we going to move forward.
Barcelona had 7 shots on target this evening.

"We are going to try to put the excuses to the side. The only way is to put everything aside is through work and nothing else. We have given a very bad account of ourselves, for the fans."
The result meant Barça finished second in Group G, behind Juventus on head to head record. Their domestic form has been similarly disappointing under new manager Ronald Koeman.
Barça have won just four of their opening ten games and are already 12 points adrift of La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid. Most recently, they fell to a shock 2-1 defeat to Cadiz, while Atleti, Getafe and Clasico rivals Real Madrid have also beaten them this season.
