Ansu Fati Named La Liga Player of the Month for September

The legend of Ansu Fati continues to grow.
After becoming Barça's youngest ever La Liga goalscorer, Champions League debutant - and the competition's youngest ever scorer following his strike against Inter last December - the 17-year-old has now been named by Santander as La Liga's youngest ever winner of the Player of the Month award for his work in September.
Following an impressive trip away with the national team last month in which he, you guessed it, he became Spain's youngest ever goalscorer, Fati has started the 2020/21 campaign in tremendous fashion.
The teenager kickstarted Ronald Koeman's tutelage in Catalonia with a quick-fire brace against Villarreal on matchday one as Barça eased to a 4-0 victory. His remarkable instincts were then laid bare in La Blaugrana's next encounter as he gave his side the lead on their way to a 3-0 triumph at Celta Vigo.
Fati has emerged as a pivotal member of Koeman's Barça, with Sevilla making a concerted effort to slow down the Spaniard when they travelled at the Camp Nou last weekend.

Nevertheless, despite Sevilla's success, the damage Fati had inflicted in Barça's opening two games was enough to see him pip six rivals to the post - including the recently departed Luis Suarez.
Iago Aspas, José Luis Morales, Luis Milla, Mikel Merino and Sergio Canales were the other contenders, but Fati's impressive start to 2020/21 meant there was only going to be one winner.
