From adidas x Netherlands in 1988, to Denmark x hummel in 1992, to Italy x Kappa in 2000, it is fair to say that some incredible home kits have graced the European Championships down the years.

These days football jerseys are big business and designers are always searching for innovations that can take things to the next level.

How many have succeeded in that ahead of Euro 2020? We took a look at all 24 home strips on display in the summer to find out...

24. Czech Republic

Trying to think of something, anything, to say about this kit was nigh-on impossible. That is never a good sign.

If you disagree, you can buy it for £64.99 from Sports Direct.

23. Ukraine

A terrible effort. Joma have put in the minimum possible work, creating something you'd be likely to find in your school's spare PE kit bin.

The inclusion of the Crimea on the faint outline of the country on the shirt has caused a stir, though.

It is a nice colour, though, and can be bought for £69.99 from UKSoccerShop.

22. North Macedonia

With their cool flag, there was a real opportunity to do something great here.

Unfortunately, Jako didn't really pull it out of the bag.

21. Switzerland

The oversized numbers in Arial Black font ruin what could have been a decent design. It's all a bit too 'custom PES Master League kit' for our liking.

Puma are selling the shirt for £70 on their official website.

20. Hungary

There are a few pleasing features here but has it got that wow factor? No, no it doesn't it. Much like Hungary's team to be honest.

You can pay tribute to Zoltan Gera by buying the shirt from adidas for £70, of course.

19. Austria

This looks an awful lot like a Fleetwood Town kit - not that that is necessarily a bad thing. Okay, maybe it is.

If you want to look like a member of the Cod Army, Puma are selling Austria shirts for £70.

18. Wales

If Wales' addition of orange to their kit is an attempt to trick their opponents into thinking that they're Spain, we're not sure it's going to work.

Anyway, you can buy Spain's... damn, Wales' kit from JD Sports for £72.

17. Sweden

What's so great about the Sweden shirt is that it can double up as a cycling hi-vis when the nights start drawing in during the winter.

It you like our plan, buy it from Adidas for £70.

16. Portugal

We know this casual wear inspired jersey won't please everyone, but boy does it look comfortable - and fresh.

You can buy it now for £69.95 from Nike.

15. Scotland

We have seen this Adidas template several times already but Scotland probably do it best. The subtle sleeve detailing and horizontal stripes take this to the next level.

Buy it from JD Sports for £65 now, in preparation for the Tartan Army taking over London this summer.

14. Turkey

If you can get over the fact it looks a bit like a knock-off you'd find at a market stall on holiday, there is plenty to love about this simple but effective design.

Nike are selling them for £69.95 now.

13. Spain

Spain's shirt is essentially a jazzed up version of the Wales offering. The geometric print is fairly interesting at least.

Adidas have plenty of the shirts in stock and they will set you back £70 each.

12. Denmark

Mikkel Damsgaard

hummel can do little wrong in our eyes. Its not quite as good as the kit they gifted us in 1986, but this year's effort is still pretty breathtaking.

UKSoccerShop currently has some in stock for just £69.99.

11. Italy

Giorgio Chiellini

Italy shirts are normally classy affairs and this year is no different, featuring a Renaissance-style pattern. Their jersey also had a collar at Euro 2012 - and we all remember what happened then.

You can get the look by heading over to Puma, who are selling these at £70.

10. England

This got a lot of unnecessary hate at the time. We think it blends nostalgia and modernity perfectly and we also rate the centralised badge.

If you want Three Lions on your shirt, cop one from Nike for £69.95.

9. Poland

The tipped collar, the centralised badge and ornate font combine to make this one of Poland's strongest shirts ever.

One of these beauties will set you back £69.95 from Nike.

8. Slovakia

A 33-year-old Marek Hamsik tearing about in a shirt inspired by the 1990s acid house scene? Sign. Us. Up.

The strip can be bought from Nike for £69.95.

7. Russia

Adidas had to tweak their design for the Russia kit after they made the sleeves look like Serbian flags. Oops. Second time around, they have smashed it out of the park.

The original version of the jersey is available from UKSoccerShop for £79.99.

6. Croatia

Croatia kits are always delicious and Luka Modric and co are set to look good at this year's tournament once again. The slightly larger checkerboard pattern is bold, yet brilliant.

Get the look from Nike for £69.95.

5. Netherlands

The Netherlands' streak of never wearing a bad kit continues.

It's subtle, it's sophisticated, it's available from Nike for £69.95,

4. Belgium

Football kits have been considered art for some time now. Belgium have taken this idea and run with it, adding a few black paintbrush strokes to their classic red design this year.

Adidas are selling these for £70 now.

3. Germany

Kai Havertz, Serge Gnabry

It is crazy how something as simple as pinstripe hoops can turn a good kit into a great one. Germany may not be everyones Euro 2020 favourites, but they are at least destined to be one of the best-looking teams around.

Adidas is the place to go if you fancy this one. It will set you back £70.

2. Finland

Joona Toivio

Yes, yes, yes. We love this. Huge Parma vibes. Let's hope Teemu Pukki's goals are enough to keep Finland in the competition so we have more time to admire this absolute stunner.

They're selling quickly, but you may be able to get one for £69.95 from Nike if you are quick about it.

1. France

Not content with having the best squad at Euro 2020, France have produced the best shirt of the tournament too.

There's not too much going on here, but the lines just mesh together so perfectly. So fresh, so clean.

Better get a move on if you want to buy one from Nike for £69.95.
