Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been voted the PFA Vertu Motors Championship Fans' Player of the Month for September.

The Serbian was in sensational form throughout the month, bagging six goals in just five appearances to help maintain the Cottagers' relatively strong start to the season.

Mitrovic, who also celebrated his birthday in September, picked up 22% of the fan vote, narrowly finishing ahead of Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing and Blackburn forward Ben Brereton-Diaz - both of whom enjoyed superb calendar months of their own.

Fulham's form deserted them somewhat during September, winning just two of the five games they played, but things wouldn't have been half as good were it not for the goals of Mitrovic.

The highlight of the month was a first half hat-trick against Swansea at Craven Cottage, while Mitrovic also bagged a double at Birmingham in a comfortable 4-1 win before handing Fulham the lead against Bristol City in a game they would go on to draw.

Mitrovic also chalked up an assist against Reading, though that was a game that Marco Silva's side would go on to lose 2-1.

Nevertheless, the 26-year-old has again proven his credentials at this level, and currently sits on 10 goals in just 11 Championship appearances. Should he continue in this rich vein of form, he'll surpass the 26 goals he scored during the 2019/20 campaign en route to firing Fulham to promotion to the Premier League.
