There's a lot of pain and heartache in the world at the moment. Thankfully, Ajax have decided to bring a little bit of a joy into everyone's life by dropping one of their sexiest away shirts in recent memory.

The Eredivisie season may have been abandoned in April but the Dutch champions have clearly not been resting on their laurels, heading down to their top secret football kit laboratory in Amsterdam to brainstorm ideas with adidas.

The result is a thing of beauty.

Featuring slanting navy blue lines trickling across a textured background like rain down a cracked window, it has been modelled beautifully by the likes of Quincy Promes, Daley Blind and Donny van de Beek. Whether the latter will still be around to wear it after the upcoming transfer window is another matter entirely.

We're getting faint vibes of England's Euro 96 away kit, but seeing as that tournament saw the Three Lions thrash the Netherlands 4-1, we doubt it was intentional.

Another stunning feature is the cheeky colour swap on Ajax's iconic badge. The Dutch champions already boast one of the best crests in the world and it looks even better in red against this speckly, light blue background.

Let us not forget that if you choose to get a name and number on the back - don't listen to what your mates say, you're never too old for that - it will also be printed in stunning blood red. This means the same friends who might take the mickey out of you at first will also never lose track of your runs down five-a-side. See, they're not laughing now are they?

Most importantly though, as Nicolas Tagliafico generously proved on social media, this shirt is 100% dog friendly.
