24 teams travelled to Cameroon for the 2021 African Cup of Nations. Now, only four remain.

After the hosts and Burkina Faso booked their places in the semi-finals on Saturday, Sunday saw Egypt and Morocco as well as Senegal and Equatorial Guinea face off for the last two spots.

Here is how each game went down...

Egypt 2-1 Morocco (aet)

Egypt set up a crunch semi-final meeting with Cameroon with a 2-1 win over Morocco after extra time.

The eventual losers got off to the perfect start inside seven minutes when Achraf Hakimi was brought down in the box, and Sofiane Boufal powered into the top corner from the resulting spot kick.

Egypt, who have underwhelmed during the tournament so far, responded fairly well to going behind with the majority of their approach play understandably going through Mohamed Salah. And it would be Salah who levelled up the scores just after the break, pouncing in the box to net a scrappy goal.

Both sides probed for the rest of the second half but neither found the breakthrough, sending the game to extra time.

It was in this additional period that Egypt won it, with Salah once again pivotal. The Liverpool man burst forward, taking it past several players before setting up Trezeguet - who almost missed AFCON through injury - to tap home the finish.

Senegal 3-1 Equatorial Guinea

Senegal made sure they were not the latest African giant to suffer a shock at AFCON, making light work of Equatorial Guinea to book their place in the semi-finals.

The favourites looked dangerous from the outset and took the lead just before the half-hour mark through Famara Diedhiou. Sadio Mane was the architect, playing a perfect through ball for Diedhiou to slide home.

Equatorial Guinea then levelled things up in the second period through Jannick Buyla Sam, who controlled Pablo Ganet's pass and then showed quick feet to guide the ball past Chelsea's Edouard Mendy in the Senegal goal.

The parity did not last long though, with substitute Cheikhou Kouyate prodding into the net after Nzalang Nacional failed to clear their lines. The returning Ismaila Sarr then put the game beyond all doubt in the closing stages, arriving perfectly inn the box to meet Saliou Ciss' low cross.
