Federico Chiesa was the star of the show on Wednesday night at San Siro, as his two goals were enough to earn Juventus a crucial win over AC Milan.

The former Fiorentina man opened the scoring inside the opening 20 minutes - thanks in large part to a delightful backheel assist from Paulo Dybala - before bagging a winner on the hour mark after Davide Calabria had equalised. Substitute Weston McKennie then added a third in the 75th minute.

The result sees La Vecchia Signora end Milan's unbeaten start to the season, and move Juve to within seven points of the Serie A leaders.

JUVENTUS

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) - 8/10 - Another fantastic performance from big Woj. One of the world's best.

Danilo (RB) - 7/10 - Decent performance from the Brazilian again. It's easy to see why Andrea Pirlo likes him so much.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - 6/10 - Really struggled to retain possession when faced with AC Milan's high press in the first half, but was superb off the ball at least.

Matthijs de Ligt (CB) - 7/10 - Solid as a rock. As always.

Gianluca Frabotta (LB) - 7/10 - Gave another good account of himself. One to watch as Alex Sandro's powers continue to wane.

2. Midfielders

Federico Chiesa (RM) - 9/10 - Scored a delightful opener inside the opening 20 minutes, and then hammered home a second on the hour mark. What a signing he's been for Juventus.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) - 3/10 - Pointless.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - 3/10 - Way off the pace, as he has been all season.

Aaron Ramsey (LM) - 5/10 - Surprisingly clumsy in possession in the first half, and should've scored in the second half.

3. Forwards

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - 5/10 - Anonymous until the 70th minute mark when he played a wonderful through to set up McKennie for a shot on goal.

Paulo Dybala (ST) - 8/10 - Say what you want about Dybala, but when the chips are down he comes up trumps. He did so once again on Wednesday night with a backheel assist for the opener.

4. Substitutions

Weston McKennie - 8/10 - Scored AGAIN. He needs to start every single game.

Dejan Kulusevski - 7/10 - Wonderful assist for Juventus' third.

Merih Demiral - N/A.

AC MILAN

5. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) - 7/10 - Could do nothing about Chiesa's goal, but made a brilliant stop to deny McKennie.

Diogo Dalot (RB) - 4/10 - Caught out of position on one too many occasions.

Simon Kjaer (CB) - 6/10 - Did nothing wrong during the game, and defended Ronaldo well.

Alessio Romagnoli (CB) - 3/10 - Didn't do enough to help Theo contain Chiesa, then was ripped to shreds by Kulusevski for the third.

Theo Hernandez (LB) - 5/10 - A constant threat down the flank, but really struggled to contain Chiesa.

6. Midfielders

Samuel Castillejo (RM) - 3/10 - The weak link in attack for Milan.

Hakan Calhanoglu (CM) - 6/10 - The Turkey international has become one of the most accomplished midfielders in Serie A this season. Continued his fine form in the first half on Wednesday night, but much quieter in the second.

Davide Calabria (CM) - 7/10 - Scored a wonderful equaliser near the end of the first half. Did not look out of place in midfield - to say the very, very least.

Franck Kessie (CM) - 6/10 - Did all the dirty work in midfield.

Jens Petter Hauge (LM) - 5/10 - It says a lot about Hauge that he can play in this size of a game and not look out of place.

7. Forward

Rafael Leao (ST) - 5/10 - Set the tempo for Milan's press which caused Juve's midfield and defence problems, but didn't do much when he actually had the ball.

8. Substitutions

Brahim Diaz - 4/10.

Andrea Conti - N/A.

Pierre Kalulu - N/A.

Daniel Maldini - 6/10 - yep, Paolo Maldini's son is legit.

Lorenzo Colombo - N/A.
