Wolves are interested in signing Aaron Ramsey from Juventus, but the player is not keen on the move.

Ramsey has endured a mixed time since moving to Turin on a free transfer in 2019, after his Arsenal contract expired. Injuries and inconsistency have hampered his progress with the midfielder missing 30 Serie A games over his two seasons at the club.

Juventus are interested in selling Ramsey who currently earns a reported £250,000 per week. Due to his high wages, finding a suitor has proven difficult. However a route back to the Premier League, looks the most possible. Tottenham have previously been mentioned with regard to an unlikely swoop, while Calciomercato claim that Wolves are also interested.

They have submitted a bid for Ramsey with incoming manager Bruno Lage looking to strengthen his ranks following last season's 13th-placed Premier League finish. Wolves have already been active in the transfer market. Rayan Ait Nouri has arrived permanently, while Fransisco Trincao has joined on loan from Barcelona. Jose Sa, Yerson Mosquera, Bendeguz Billa have also signed.

However, Ramsey is not thought to be keen on joining Lage’s growing squad. He would likely have to take a pay cut to seal a return to England, as well as give up playing Champions League football this season.

Juventus will be hoping Ramsey changes his mind. After selling Ramsey they hope to replace him with Miralem Pjanic. Prior to moving to Barcelona last summer, the midfielder made just shy of 200 appearances over four seasons.

He struggled in Spain last campaign, though, failing to register a single goal or assist in 30 games. Arthur - whom Juventus received in exchange for Pjanic - did not impress either, with several midfielders moving ahead of him in the pecking order.

If Juventus are to freshen up their options in the middle of the park Ramsey’s wages will need to be shifted off the books.
