Aaron Ramsdale has won the Castrol Save of the Month award for March for his brilliant stop in Arsenal's dramatic 3-2 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.

The Arsenal number one was at his best during what could be a season-defining game for his side on March 4.

With his team caught out by a swift counter-attack from Bournemouth, Ramsdale was forced into a heroic stop to deny Dango Ouattara what looked a certain goal - scampering quickly across his box to track a Dominic Solanke cross and get his body in front of Ouattara's subsequent side-footed effort.

The Gunners would go on to complete a dramatic comeback, coming from two goals down to earn all three points with a 97th minute winner from Reiss Nelson.

That win, and subsequent emphatic victories over Fulham and Crystal Palace, has seen Arsenal open up at an eight point lead at the top of the Premier League table heading into the final ten games of the season.

Ramsdale is the third English goalkeeper to win the Castrol Save of the Month award during 2022/23, with Nick Pope and Jordan Pickford both previously winning the award.

Other nominees for the March award included Illan Meslier, Jose Sa, Alphonse Areola, David Raya and Fraser Forster.
