Borussia Dortmund are in pole position to sign Valencia winger Ferran Torres this summer, amid speculation linking the highly-rated Spaniard with a host of Europe's elite clubs.
The 20-year-old has been in impressive form this season, making 35 appearances in all competitions in which he has scored six goals and registered seven assists. As a result, Torres is being lined up by a number of the biggest clubs across Europe, including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Juventus.
However, it appears that Dortmund may have jumped to the front of the queue, with the Bundesliga outfit ready to fend off competition in a bid to sign the coveted wideman.
According to Goal, BVB lead the charge, with Torres having already turned down the opportunity to sign a new bumper deal with Valencia.
It's believed that Los Che's prized asset has a €100m release clause in his current contract, but with his deal set to expire in the summer of 2021, Torres could leave Valencia for far less this summer.
A plethora of clubs are desperate to acquire the starlet's services as a result, meaning Dortmund will have to be proactive if they want to strike a deal before their closest competitors manage to do so.
With Jadon Sancho set to leave Dortmund this summer, Lucien Favre and his backroom staff will be desperate to sign an adequate replacement in the upcoming transfer window, and will likely receive a gargantuan sum of money for the English winger when he leaves.
Achraf Hakimi - who has often been used as a winger this season - will return to Real Madrid this summer following his loan spell with BVB, while Thorgan Hazard is yet to fully establish himself since his move from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Therefore, Torres could provide a great solution to a potential problem for Dortmund ahead of next season, especially considering the sensational recent performances from the Spaniard.
