Teenage Ligue 1 Pair Keen to Play Under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid

Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and Lyon forward Rayan Cherki are both keen to head to Real Madrid and work under fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.

As far as former players go, they don't come much bigger than Zidane. He used his influence to lure Eden Hazard away from Chelsea last season, and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé has been tipped to follow next summer.

In the meantime, Real could welcome a few new Frenchman this summer as ABC note that both Camavinga and Cherki, who have both been linked with moves to the Santiago Bernabéu, are keen to make the switch because of Zidane.

Beginning with Camavinga, the 17-year-old is believed to have made no secret of his desire to head to Real, specifically informing Rennes that he wants them to reject all offers apart from Real.

LiverpoolTottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have all been linked with the Frenchman, who could cost around the £50m mark, but it seems as though the race for his signature will be Real's to lose.

It's a similar situation with Cherki. The 16-year-old, who has broken through to the Lyon first team this season, is said to be determined to join Real this summer, but wants to instantly head out on loan for a few years to continue his development à la Martin Odegaard.

Real normally like to send their youth products to their development side until they are ready for senior action, but Cherki seemingly believes that he is ready to continue playing regular top-flight football.

AS pretty much copy this entire story, throwing in the odd mention of how they know the players want the move, but they do add that RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano could be an option as well.

Represented by the same team as Toni Kroos, there is a belief that Upamecano could be convinced to move to the Bernabéu, but with so much interest in the 21-year-old from elsewhere, he is seen as a long shot for club officials.
