Barcelona 'Ready to Sell' Antoine Griezmann - Aim to Raise €100m for Reinvestment

Barcelona are said to be prepared to offload forward Antoine Griezmann this summer, just one year after he joined the club.

In what could be the most dramatic transfer saga of all time (we all remember La Decision), it took Barcelona over a year to land Griezmann, and they then had to go through a legal battle with Atlético Madrid, who were not happy with the fee paid.

Having gone through so much to sign him, Barcelona had expected Griezmann to become a dominant force at Camp Nou. However, according to Sport, club officials have not been totally convinced by the Frenchman.

He has managed 14 goals and four assists in 37 appearances this season, and Barcelona don't believe that is good enough.

Quique Setién's side are plotting a busy summer transfer window, with both Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar and Inter's Lautaro Martínez in their sights, and Barcelona are believed to be ready to sell Griezmann for €100m to help afford those deals.

In terms of interested sides, Manchester UnitedChelsea and Arsenal are all suggested to be keen on recruiting the Frenchman, while PSG are also thought to be in the race.

It is suggested that Griezmann could even leave in a part exchange, although that seems unlikely given Barcelona actually want to raise money. There would be no point in them signing another player - unless that player is either Martínez or Neymar.

Griezmann has previously been described as Inter's 'dream signing' to replace Martínez, so that one appears to make a whole lot of sense, while using Griezmann to reduce PSG's asking price for Neymar would also be a smart move.

However, the idea of a swap deal could work for Arsenal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou if Barcelona miss out on Martínez, so the Gunners could try and pull of an audacious swap deal, although failure to qualify for any European competition could put Griezmann off joining.

As for United and Chelsea, both have moved in a younger direction and are unlikely to spend €100m on a 29-year-old, and they both have other plans for their transfer budget anyway.
