Robert & Anna Lewandowski Donate €1m Towards Fight Against Coronavirus

Ask any defender in the Bundesliga, and they'll tell you that Robert Lewandowski is the meanest opponent they have ever faced.
The Polish superstar has terrorised the backline of every German defence for a decade now, and he is a nightmare for every centre-back he comes up against.
Off the pitch however, Lewandowski is a lovely man. And his loveliness has been confirmed, after he and his wife Anna donated €1m to provide immediate relief in the ongoing battle against the deadly Coronavirus, Bild reports.
The virus has swept across the whole of Europe, causing the most affected countries, like Italy and Spain, to be forced into a nationwide quarantine, to slow the spread of the disease.
And subsequently, the entire football calendar has been brought to a grinding halt, with no real plan in place for how to finish the interrupted season.
But the worrying rise in coronavirus cases around the world has been met by the incredible generosity of our football stars, who have delved deep into their pockets to provide some much-needed financial boosts to hospitals and charities tackling this dangerous illness.
And Lewandowski is the latest to do his bit, donating the huge sum of €1m to help defeat the Coronavirus.
Speaking to Bild, the Bayern striker and his wife Anna discussed the severity of the situation, urging everyone to 'show some responsibility,' and to respect the instructions given to them by the government.
“We are all aware of the difficult situation around us. Today we all play in a team. Let us be strong in this fight. If we can help someone, let's do it," they said.
"This situation affects everyone of us, so we ask you to follow the instructions and listen to those who know best. Show some responsibility!"
“We believe that we will soon return to our normal life. We are in this situation together and we are getting through it together.”
