Demba Ba Cheekily Reminds Liverpool Fans of THAT Steven Gerrard Slip on Twitter
By Ali Rampling
Demba Ba has enjoyed a professional football career spanning over 15 years. He's scored goals in the Bundesliga, Premier League and Turkish Super Lig and represented his country.
However, no matter what Ba has achieved in his career, or what he will go on to achieve, the Senegalese striker will always be remembered for one of the simplest goals he ever scored.
In April 2014, Liverpool had a shot at their maiden Premier League title in their hands, and just had to avoid defeat against Chelsea to leave them two wins from glory.
After their outing against Manchester City - a narrow win - captain, talisman and all round Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard, so desperate to celebrate a league title with his boyhood club, gave his teammate's a piece of priceless advice that surely could not come back to haunt him in anyway.
"We don't let this slip, we go again!" Gerrard cried to his teammates in the post-match huddle.
Unfortunately for Gerrard, in Liverpool's meeting with Chelsea a few short weeks later, he famously lost his footing when in possession on the half-way line, leaving Ba to charge through on goal and finish with aplomb.
Liverpool lost 2-0, and finished second to Manchester City in the Premier League.
It now appears Ba is quite happy to live off the riches of that notorious goal, after his antics on social media.
In a clip of a futsal match posted by 433, a player slips as he shapes his body to shoot. The opposition player could race clean through, but sportingly opts to roll the ball back to the goalkeeper instead.
The caption reads "what would you have done?"
"Score," replies Ba.
Nice one Ba, Steven's crying now.
Ba only spent a season at Chelsea following his 2013 switch from Liverpool, and didn't score again for the club after his infamous goal against Liverpool.
However, he has ensured that he is immortalised in Premier League history as a result.
