Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both chasing the signature of PSG full-back Thomas Meunier.

Meunier’s contract at the French champions is due to expire in the summer and, with no new deal in the offing, he is now free to discuss terms with other clubs.

News of the Belgium international’s availability has alerted the attention of both Munich and Dortmund, with Goal reporting that the pair have already made contact with Meunier prior to PSG’s Champions League round of 16 tie in Dortmund last month.

Meunier has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in the past, but despite no decision yet being made on his future, the full-back appears destined for the Bundesliga.

Munich are keen to bring in defensive reinforcements with Joshua Kimmich now adopting a central midfield role. France international Benjamin Pavard has been deployed at right-back in Kimmich's absence for the German champions, though he is more suited to a central role.

Dortmund themselves are seeking a right-back with Real Madrid loanee Achraf Hakimi appearing set to be recalled by his parent club at the end of this season, following two successful seasons on loan in Germany. Hakimi has proved a huge hit with the Dortmund fans, though reports suggest Madrid are keen to recall the youngster to provide competition for places with current first choice right-back Dani Carvajal.

Meunier arrived in Paris from Belgian side Club Brugge in 2016. The 28-year-old has gone on to make 120 appearances for the Parisians, though has found first team opportunities hard to come by this season, making just 12 league appearances and a further three appearances in domestic cup competitions.

With youngster Thilo Kehrer seemingly establishing himself as the first choice right-back in recent weeks and no new deal being tabled by the PSG hierarchy, it seems Meunier’s time in Ligue 1 could be coming to an end.
