In a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash, leaders Juventus host third-place Inter on Sunday evening.
The hosts were left smarting after a surprise 1-0 defeat at Lyon in the midweek, and will look to bounce back by inflicting a blow upon their opponents' title chances with a win.
Inter on the other hand, notched up a hard-fought win against Bulgarian club Ludogorets in the Europa League on Thursday evening and will be eyeing a similar result this weekend.
Here's 90min's preview of the game.

Team News
Juventus have very few injuries that will effect squad selection for this weekend. Defender Merih Demiral is a long-term absentee having been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Brazilian winger Douglas Costa is considered a doubt having missed recent games due to a thigh problem.
Inter also have several injuries, most notably to skipper Samir Handanović. The Slovenian stopper has not played in recent weeks with a finger injury and will be considered a doubt for Sunday's game.
Midfielders Roberto Gagliardini (bone) and Stefano Sensi (foot) will also be unavailable to manager Antonio Conte for selection, and Kwadwo Asamoah (knee) is also considered a doubt for the match.
Predicted Lineups
Juventus | Szczęsny; Danilo, De Ligt, Bonucci, Sandro; Ramsey, Pjanić, Matuidi; Cuadrado, Dybala, Ronaldo. |
---|---|
Inter | Padelli; Godin, De Vrij, Škriniar; Candreva, Barella, Brozović, Eriksen, Biraghi; Lukaku, Martínez. |
Head to Head Record
When these two teams met at the Giuseppe Meazza in October, goals from Paulo Dybala and substitute Gonzalo Higuaín were enough for I Bianconeri to leave Milan with a 2-1 win.
Juve have the upper hand in this fixture having won six of the last ten games between these two sides. This is compounded by Inter's inability to win in Turin, with the last time being nearly eight years ago in 2012. Since then, the league leaders have won five of the last seven games held at home against their opponents.
Recent Form
Up until Wednesday, Juve had enjoyed a fruitful few weeks. They comfortably beat relegation-threatened Brescia 2-0 and then fellow strugglers SPAL 2-1 in an away win. Yet the midweek 1-0 defeat at Lyon means they come into this game determined to produce a much better performance than the one they did in France.
Inter in contrast come into Sunday's game on the back of a win, having bounced back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Lazio in the league with a 2-0 away win at Ludogorets in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie.
Here's how both sides have fared in their last five games.
Juventus | Inter |
---|---|
Lyon 1-0 Juventus (26/2) | Inter 2-1 Ludogorets (27/2) |
SPAL 1-2 Juventus (22/2) | Ludogorets 0-2 Inter (20/2) |
Juventus 2-0 Brescia (16/2) | Lazio 2-1 Inter (16/2) |
AC Milan 1-1 Juventus (13/2) | Inter 0-1 Napoli (12/2) |
Verona 2-1 Juventus (8/2) | Inter 4-2 AC Milan (9/2) |
Prediction
In round two of the budding rivalry between ex-Chelsea managers Sarri and Conte, the outcome will probably be a draw as the Inter tactics will likely frustrate the home side, and snatch a draw.
Prediction:Juventus 1-1 Inter
