Bruno Fernandes & Richarlison Among the Hot Picks for Fantasy Premier League GW28
After back-to-back weeks of Dominic Calvert-Lewin mugging us off in front of our mates, we're back, lads, and we're ready to do it all over again.
The average Joe struggled to 45 points last time out, while the top-dog of gameweek 27 accumulated an impressive 126 points as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Matt Doherty all hit double figures with their respective performances.
And with the Carabao Cup final f--king everything up in the FPL world this weekend, now would be a great time to deploy your free hit - if you were smart enough to save it.
Nevertheless, as we approach the final ten gameweeks of the season, here's who you should be looking to add and drop from your FPL squads.
Purple Patch Patricio, Drop Dean
Three consecutive Premier League clean sheets? An incompetent Tottenham coming up at the weekend? It's time to draft in Rui Patricio.
While the Portuguese international is regarded as one of the finer shot-stoppers in the division, Patricio has been particularly exceptional as of late and starred in the 0-0 stalemate against Leicester two weeks ago - collecting three bonus points.
He's mustered 25 points in his last three outings and could certainly add to his impressive recent haul on Sunday, where Wolves take on a strikerless Spurs side. His side's tasty schedule across March also suggests that Patricio is undoubtedly a long-term option.
Dean Henderson's tricky fixture-list until May, however, means you should say farewell before his inevitable decline - FPL wise.
His remarkable form has made him a popular choice among FPL managers this season, registering nine clean sheets and 115 points in total. But, despite Norwich and Newcastle upcoming for Sheffield United, the fact Henderson's not in action this weekend along with the Blades' tough schedule post-Newcastle means you should be thinking about letting him go.
In-Form Doherty, Oust Wan-Bissaka
Sticking with the Wolves theme; could Matt Doherty be hitting FPL form at just the right time?
Following a barren spell between gameweeks 20 and 24, Doherty has hit back in recent weeks, bringing home 22 points from his last three games. The Irishman now has seven goal contributions for the campaign and with Spurs upcoming, a side that struggle to defend against wing-backs - see their recent Leipzig encounter and both clashes with Chelsea - there's potential for Doherty to be productive once more.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, meanwhile, should be heading straight out of your squad despite his superb run of form.
The remarkable defensive ability of the former Palace man down the right flank has helped United to the joint-fourth best defensive record in the league, also helping his side to six clean sheets in his 23 appearances. Nevertheless, his awkward nature in possession and struggles in the attacking third - although he's showing signs of improvement - mean he's unlikely to contribute going forward, while his upcoming fixtures - Everton and Manchester City - don't exactly scream 'clean sheet' to me.
Fantastic Fernandes, Beastly Brazilian & Adama's Fading Powers
Talk about hitting the ground running, eh?
Bruno Fernandes should already be on your shopping list, people.
The January signing has three goal contributions in his last two and played a significant role in three United goals against Club Brugge on Thursday night. To put it simply, Bruno's a bit good and his playmaking abilities in and around the box will ensure he continues to contribute in the final third. He''s been a joy to watch in his short sample size thus far.
Also, amid a season-defining run of fixtures for Carlo Ancelotti's Everton, Richarlison just has to be in your side for the remainder of the campaign. The Brazilian's ability with both feet, aerial presence, pace and power make for a deadly combination, and it was on full display in the defeat to Arsenal last Sunday. Get him in.
As for Adama Traore, well, it seems like his purple patch is drawing to a close.
After a run of form which saw the Spaniard strike fear into opposing defences like no other, Traore has been named on the bench in Wolves' last two Premier League games and with Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota and even Pedro Neto rested for the Espanyol, he's set to return to the bench once more on Sunday. He just hasn't been the same since he bottled the one-v-one against Virgil van Dijk.
Deadly Diogo, Tick-Tock for Tammy
I know this is Wolves heavy, but you can't overlook Diogo Jota's majestic run of form.
A clever player whose movement often unbalances defences, Jota followed up his Europa League hat-trick against Espanyol with a brace against Norwich last Sunday. Now fully rested after missing the second leg in Spain on Thursday, the diminutive Jota is ready to wreak havoc in north London this weekend. For a mere £6.2m, the Wolves man is a no-brainer.
On the other hand, over 20% of you have stuck with Tammy Abraham, and I can't fathom as to why?
The gangly forward hasn't scored since the 3-0 win over Burnley in mid-January and was forced to watch Olivier Giroud deliver a superb target-man display against Spurs last weekend, as well as a competent one in the first-half against Bayern on Tuesday night.
So, with the Frenchman proving to be an asset with willing runners around him, Frank Lampard won't be desperate to integrate Abraham into the starting XI for the trip to Bournemouth, especially after the 22-year-old reportedly suffered an injury in the cool down post the Bavarian humbling.
