Real Madrid Fail With Appeal to Overturn Bizarre Rodrygo Red Card Ahead of Clasico
Real Madrid's forward options have taken another hit ahead of their upcoming La Liga showdown with Barcelona as an appeal against Rodrygo's red card dismissal - while playing for the club's 'B' team - was turned down.
In the second instalment of this season's Clasico encounters, Madrid host Barça on Sunday, knowing victory could have a significant say in deciding who finishes top of the pile this season.

Zinedine Zidane is already without summer signing Eden Hazard after the Belgian suffered a hairline fracture of his fibula, while young Brazilian forward Rodrygo will serve a red card suspension.
Rodrygo was playing for Los Blancos' Castilla side having missed out on the club's last three La Liga matchday squads.
Already on a yellow card after receiving one earlier in the game against San Sebastián de los Reyes, Rodrygo earned himself a second booking directly after scoring a fine solo goal for goading his efforts in front of Reyes' goalkeeper Xabier Irureta. The Brazilian held his arms aloft before cheering just centimetres from the keeper's face, prompting an angry reaction from rival players.
Madrid did their best to appeal the decision to a special committee judge - claiming it was Rodrygo who was confronted and not as the referee perceived - but as Mundo Deportivo reveal, their efforts were futile. It is added that Madrid can appeal again to another committee before the Barça clash, but as it stands, he will sit out the hotly anticipated fixture.
This season has been a mixed bag for the teenager - who has netted two goals in 12 La Liga outings in his first season in Spain - as he has struggled to nail down a starting berth in the capital.
Zinedine Zidane sat down with the forward recently to assure him that he remains in his plans for the future, although he was set to return to the squad for Sunday's clash as the plethora of injuries plaguing the Frenchman would fast-track him back into contention.
