La Liga has taken the remarkable stance of supporting the actions of Real Mallorca fitness coach Dani Pastor, after he was caught on camera making a seemingly racist gesture during their 1-0 defeat to Espanyol.
Pastor appeared to get the attention of Japanese star
The staff member and club have received plenty of criticism since the video surfaced, but La Liga have defended the coach's actions, telling CNN that they do not believe the gesture 'carries a racist attitude' and it was 'simply a way to alert the player'.
"At La Liga, we do not consider that the intention of this gesture carries a racist attitude," the statement read.
"It is simply a way to alert the player when he was warming up without any other intention."
Kubo is on loan at Real Mallorca from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who signed the starlet from
