30 Strongest Players on FIFA 20
By 90min
Since its inception back in 1993, FIFA has become a video game adored across the globe. No matter what sort of day you've had or the age you are, a game of FIFA always seems to make things better.
The game looks to create a realistic representation of real life players, taking into account the numerous attributes that are required to make it to the top of the sport.
One such attribute is strength, but who exactly are the strongest players in the game today? With the help of FIFA Index, we count down the top 30 strongest players on FIFA 20.
Let's see if you agree with their ratings - let's be real, you probably won't. There's not even room for Virgil van Dijk.
30. Mouhamadou-Naby Sarr
93 Strength
We dip into the Championship to start with, as Charlton centre back Naby Sarr gets this list off and running. The Addicks are in the bottom half of the table even with Sarr at the back, and still have work to do to secure another season in the second tier.
29. Julian Quinones
93 Strength
Colombian winger Quinones has not been able to show off his strength lately, having been out for a number of months with a cruciate ligament injury. He is due to return within the next month, and will hope to be powering past players once more in no time.
28. Bismar Acosta
93 Strength
A veteran of the game at 33, Acosta is currently plying his trade in Norway for Brann. The Costa Rican defender rarely misses a game when available, cementing his place as a vital presence in the back-line for the Norwegian outfit.
27. Douglas Tanque
93 Strength
Brazilian striker Tanque is currently trying to use his strength to steer Pacos de Ferreira away from the relegation zone. Not the easiest task, with the team winning just four of their opening 19 league games this season, but the powerful forward is keeping them just above the bottom two with 15 games to go.
26. Hendrik Weydandt
93 Strength
Next on the list is Hannover forward Weydandt. The 24-year-old had been a regular this season, before an Achilles tendon issue kept him out in January. He will be hoping to be back to bully defenders off the ball soon.
25. Osmar
93 Strength
Enjoying his football over in South Korea for FC Seoul, Osmar is adaptable as well as strong. His ability to play in either central defence or as a holding midfielder makes him a vital player for the team, and he played a key role in helping the side to a third-placed finish in 2019.
24. Michael Frey
93 Strength
Back over to Germany, and a player who is currently operating outside the top flight in Michael Frey. He plays for Nurnberg in the second tier and is a regular starter for the side. He's not yet won a senior cap for Switzerland, but that hasn't prevented FIFA from recognising him as one of the strongest players around right now.
23. Jon Ander Garrido
93 Strength
The experienced Spaniard has helped guide Cadiz to the summit of the Segunda division this season as they look to return to the top flight for the first time since 2006. A powerhouse in midfield with impressive technical ability, Garrido is a key cog in the Cadiz machine.
22. Andreas Cornelius
93 Strength
He may be as strong as an ox when he gets out on the pitch, but Cornelius' body has let him down this season, with the Danish striker suffering numerous fitness issues. Premier League fans may remember him from his time at Cardiff but he's now at Parma, who are having a fine season in Italy despite their striker's body appearing to fall apart every other week.
21. Mateo Pavlovic
93 Strength
Despite his undoubted strength, Pavlovic has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Angers defence this season. The French club are currently comfortably above the relegation zone, but the Croatian defender is going to have to show that there is more than just strength to his game if he is to establish himself in the side.
20. Stefano Okaka
93 Strength
Having popped into London briefly for spells at Watford and Fulham, Okaka now seems to be doing a tour of Italy. He's currently playing for Udinese, his eighth club in the country, and is actually doing a fine job. As has been the case in recent years, the side are hovering above the relegation zone right now, but Okaka is doing all he can to muscle his side up the table.
19. Bruno Petkovic
93 Strength
From a current Serie A player to a former one. Petkovic also had his fair share of clubs in Italy - matching Okaka's total of eight, but he is now back in his homeland of Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb. It will come as a surprise to no one that Dinamo are strolling towards another league title, with Petkovic leading the line impressively for much of the campaign so far.
18. Yeimar Gomez Andrade
93 Strength
Having impressed in Argentina in 2019, Andrade recently moved to America where he will play for Seattle Sounders this season. At 27 years old, he seems to be at the peak of his career, but his strength has still not been enough to see him make his international debut for Colombia yet.
17. Ramon Abila
93 Strength
Over to South America we go now, with Boca Juniors striker Ramon Abila. He has been on the fringes of the side for much of the campaign, proving that strength isn't everything in modern day football. Then again it can't be easy forcing your way into a side that contains Carlos Tevez. Yes, at 36, Tevez is still hanging on in there.
16. Artem Dzyuba
93 Strength
Fans may be familiar with Dzyuba following his fine goalscoring feats for Russia, having netted 24 goals in 42 games for his country. The striker is prolific at club level as well, using his obvious physical attributes to score 11 times in 19 league games for Zenit before Christmas.
15. Willy Boly
93 Strength
Boly played an integral part in ensuring that Wolves finished inside the top seven in the Premier League in 2018/19. The centre back has already missed three months of this season with an ankle injury, but has recently returned and looks set to play a key role in the run-in. His commanding presence in defence could see Wolves earn themselves a European spot once again this year.
14. Niklas Sule
93 Strength
At just 24, Sule already has 24 caps to his name for Germany, highlighting his undoubted potential. The giant centre half is currently on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury earlier this season. When fully fit he is a regular in the Bayern Munich defence, and if attackers want to take him on in a physical battle it probably won't end well for them.
13. Issa Marega
94 Strength
Marega has had an underwhelming campaign at Ligue 2 side Chateauroux, last starting for the team back in mid November. He has not made the squad at all so far in 2020, and may need to flex his muscles to get a move elsewhere if he is to fulfill his potential.
12. Tomas Petrasek
94 Strength
Standing just shy of two metres tall, Petrasek is a player you simply do not want to mess with on a football pitch, and probably won't beat in a physical battle in FIFA, either. It seems his manager at Rakow does not want to upset him, with Petrasek playing every minute in the league for the Polish club so far this season.
11. Uche Ikpeazu
94 Strength
It has been an unhappy season for Hearts so far, with the club currently stuck in a battle to avoid relegation. Ikpeazu has not had his finest campaign either, with his role being limited to that of an impact substitute in recent times. The Edinburgh-based side need to get far more out of him, as at his best he is more than a handful for opposition defences.
10. Florian Ballas
94 Strength
Dynamo Dresden may be languishing in the bottom half of Germany's second division, but they do have a dominant presence at the back in their ranks. Ballas has been an ever-present this season, and will need to be on top form between now and May if Dresden are to avoid dropping into the third tier.
9. Felipe Carvalho
94 Strength
Carvalho is on the books of Norwegian side Valerenga at the moment, although that may not be for much longer. Having returned from a loan spell in Uruguay at the start of the year, he failed to turn up for pre-season training in January. It seems that he wants to take his strength elsewhere.
8. Alberto Cerri
94 Strength
Cerri has often been unable to prove his quality in Serie A, with Juventus loaning him out regularly in his earlier years, while he's been limited to a substitute role at current club Cagliari during the first part of this season. Now on loan at relegation-threatened SPAL, he should get more opportunities to shine and he can be a difficult striker to contain when on form.
7. Obbi Oulare
94 Strength
Oulare may be an intimidating physical presence, but his opportunities to impose himself on opposition sides has been limited over the past three years due to injuries. After making three appearances for Watford back in 2015/16, he has failed to kick on, struggling in both the Netherlands and Belgium since.
6. Sebastian Coates
94 Strength
Things may not have worked out so well for Coates at Liverpool, but that does not mean he should be completely dismissed. That is certainly how FIFA feel, as they recognise the Sporting CP defender to be one of the strongest athletes in the modern game.
5. Duvan Zapata
94 Strength
Zapata had a breakthrough season in 2018/19, netting 23 Serie A goals in helping Atalanta to a third-placed finish. The striker has had injury setbacks this season, meaning he missed three months of the campaign, yet he remains one of the best forwards in the league as Atalanta go in search of a Champions League spot once again this year.
4. Daryl Dike
95 Strength
Given that he is only 19, Dike could be topping this list in future years. For now he will have to settle for fourth spot. The centre forward moved to Orlando in January and will be looking to make his mark in MLS when the league gets underway in March.
3. Romelu Lukaku
95 Strength
Lukaku has returned to his best form this season, looking like a new man out in Italy with Inter. He has already stormed past his goals tally from his final season at Manchester United and shows no signs of slowing down as he tries to keep Antonio Conte's team in the fight for their first title since 2010.
2. Kalidou Koulibaly
95 Strength
Koulibaly has far more to his game than just strength, with his reading of play and positional sense attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He has not had his best season in 2019/20, with Napoli underachieving domestically, yet at his best he is a colossus at the back, and he may get to demonstrate that in the Premier League one day.
1. Adebayo Akinfenwa
97 Strength
No surprises who our winner is. Yes, it's that man Adebayo Akinfenwa. He may be 37, but the Wycombe front man has given no indication that he is slipping physically and will continue to give centre halves sleepless nights until he hangs up his boots. Not the most agile or quickest player around, but give the ball to him to hold up with his back to goal, and there is very little chance of anyone taking it off him.
