Jorginho's Chelsea Future Uncertain After Agent Opens Door to Potential Juventus Move

Jorginho's agent has opened the door for his client to return to Italian football and be reunited with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus in the summer.

Under Frank Lampard this season, Jorginho has become a fan favourite after initially facing criticism for his performances under previous boss Sarri last campaign.

The famed 'Sarri-ball' failed to win over large sections of the Chelsea faithful during the Italian's term in charge of the club; this despite finishing third in the Premier League and lifting the Europa League trophy.

This season that mood has shifted, and the midfielder is now considered an integral part in Lampard's new look Blues outfit.

However, Jorginho's agent, Joao Santos, has thrown a potential spanner in the works by suggesting that a move back to Serie A is a genuine possibility in the upcoming summer window.

"Why not [move to Juventus in the summer]? I am sure that some important offers will arrive and obviously we’ll evaluate them along with Chelsea," he told TuttoMercatoWeb (via Bleacher Report).

Currently under contract until the summer of 2023, Jorginho joined from SSC Napoli for an initial fee of £50m, meaning any deal to prise him away from London would require a substantial offer. Whether there is genuine interest from I Bianconeri is not known, but considering the wealth of talent they already possess in midfield, players would surely need to depart first if there is to be any summer movement.

Nevertheless, Santos insisted Jorginho's current focus is set towards the upcoming European Championships, where the 28-year-old will be hoping to lead Italy to glory under Roberto Mancini.

"His objective is Euro 2020 with Italy, as there are many expectations around Roberto Mancini's side," he added. "The Euros also represent a good shop window on a personal level, as he is doing very well with Chelsea and I am certain that he'll receive some important proposals this summer, because there aren't many top level players in his role around."
