Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has revealed that he is happy with his first few months at the club, but he believes that he can do so much better.
The Dutchman completed his switch to Barcelona during the summer and has already made 30 appearances in all competitions, establishing himself as a permanent part of the starting lineup at Camp Nou.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, De Jong confessed he was pleased with his start to life in Barcelona, but added that he expects to improve once he has fully settled in and adjusted to life at the club.
"I am enjoying it a lot, playing at Barça was always my dream and now that I am finally here I am enjoying it," he said.
"In these first months at Barça I have played a lot of minutes and that is always a good sign in the first year. For now I am satisfied with my performance, but not quite, I am convinced that I can still go further.
"I think I've played some games that were good, but I also think I can still do much better, but when you get to a new team you always need some adaptation time and I think it's normal for that to take some time, but I hope I can go playing better and better as the season progresses."
De Jong rose to prominence as a defensive midfielder at Ajax, so when he arrived at Barcelona, he was touted as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets. However, the Spaniard has retained his place in the team, with De Jong playing in a more advanced role instead.
Some have suggested that playing in such a role limits De Jong's effectiveness, but the Dutchman insisted he is happy playing in any position.
