Christmas is well and truly over but the kind folk over at adidas football are clearly still in the festive mood. Last week they revealed the return of an icon in footballing attire; the black, red and white Predator.

For 2020 the brand-with-the-three-stripes introduced us to the new and improved Mutator 20+ along with iconic colourway and new groundbreaking 'DEMONSKIN' technology.

406 carefully crafted - and apparently very important - spikes were also added to the boot’s outer to offer an enhanced level of touch, control and spin on the ball.

Midfield enigma Paul Pogba was again selected to be one of the faces of the new slick advertising campaign - much to the annoyance of some who, for some reason, believe that if the French World Cup winner is fit enough to be pretending to play in an advert, he should be able to do it on a cold Tuesday night in Burnley.

Unfortunately lads - we're looking at you, Graham - that's not how injuries work.

The rest of the Adidas boot gang also received fresh updates for 2020. The COPA 20+ comes in a similarly bold active red and core black colourway across its K-Leather outer and knitted collar, ensuring clean ball contact in any weather, and remains ribbed, for your pleasure.

The X 19+ and the Nemeziz 19+ round off the Mutator Pack in a new royal blue and cloud white colourway. The X 19+ features a low-cut silhouette and 3D moulded heel offering optimum support, while the Tension Tape composition of the Nemeziz 19+ enables a fully adaptive fit.

Bank accounts are famously lower than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's expectations at Manchester United by the end of January. But with payday around the corner and months of wet and muddy weather still ahead of us, it might be time to invest. The same goes for you, Ole.
