Adama Traore is hands-down the most improved player in the Premier League this season.

It never really happened for the winger during his early years at Barcelona, leading to a move to Aston Villa at the age of 19.

Unfortunately, he also failed to impress in the Midlands, while at Middlesbrough he was something of a loose cannon.

Adama Traore

The same is true of his first year as a Wolves player, but there's now a different aura around the Spaniard as he celebrates turning 24 - after a string of sensational performances this season.

On his big day, 90min takes a look at Traore's journey from zero to hero at Molineux, through the lens of Twitter, of course.

It's fair to say that Traore's stock wasn't particularly high when the Wanderers forked out £18m for his services in August 2018...

Still, some were willing to give Traore another crack at the Premier League...

And a minority of fans thought Molineux would be a stepping stone for bigger things...

Though there was no doubt about the general consensus...

Despite his doubters, Traore enjoyed a strong opening to his Wolves career...

But, it can be difficult to change people's opinions...

Traore netted a last-minute winner at West Ham in September, only to enter a barren patch that lasted for the majority of the season.

Supporters weren't particularly forgiving, with many losing faith in his abilties...

Fans made it was pretty clear which areas they felt should work on. Even those who saw his huge potential wanted something to change...

By the time the summer rolled around, Nuno had a decision to make. He'd experimented with Traore's position on the field, witnessing his potential as a wing-back.

The manager continued his tinkering in the qualifying rounds of the 2019/20 Europa League, handing the speedster a role that better suited his attributes. Traore brought his form into the domestic campaign, and suddenly he was no longer the butt-end of jokes - they were being made at the expense of his opponents...

Yes, both Manchester clubs fell at the hands of the man who has looked reborn this term...

Soon enough, the public were sitting up and taking notice...

And thus, the legend of Adama Traore was born...

Take a bow on your birthday, Adama. You're on the right path.
