Adama Traore is hands-down the most improved player in the Premier League this season.
It never really happened for the winger during his early years at Barcelona, leading to a move to Aston Villa at the age of 19.
Unfortunately, he also failed to impress in the Midlands, while at Middlesbrough he was something of a loose cannon.
The same is true of his first year as a Wolves player, but there's now a different aura around the Spaniard as he celebrates turning 24 - after a string of sensational performances this season.
On his big day, 90min takes a look at Traore's journey from zero to hero at Molineux, through the lens of Twitter, of course.
It's fair to say that Traore's stock wasn't particularly high when the Wanderers forked out £18m for his services in August 2018...
Why do clubs keep trying to make Adama Traore good he's awful and what a waste of 18 million hahahahaha— Harry Livermore (@livermore_harry) August 8, 2018

Wolves just signed the wrongest player.... Adama Traore na bad news..... got relegated with the 2 teams he played for in EPL.....— #FLEMZEEY CFC (@_flemzeey) August 8, 2018
Still, some were willing to give Traore another crack at the Premier League...
Trying to work out if £18m for Adama Traore is a good or bad deal. There's a whiff of potential superstar about him, but also a high chance of expensive luxury player who can't turn skills into effective results.— Alex V (@ratfootalex) August 8, 2018
Not the best player but hands down the most exciting player I've seen in my lifetime at Boro and I include Juninho in that.— Jay Snowballs (@JaySnowballs23) August 7, 2018
Can't fault the lad for having ambition, once upon a time we would of matched him.
Good luck Adama Traore.
And a minority of fans thought Molineux would be a stepping stone for bigger things...

Though there was no doubt about the general consensus...

Great, here’s Adama Traore to run round really fast and be incapable of doing anything with the ball at his feet— Snakes (@coNor_Silcock) August 25, 2018
Oh comes the absolute dribbling merchant, Adama Traore. Could be a great signing if his end product has improved.— Mills ⚒ (@gtmills) August 25, 2018
Traore netted a last-minute winner at West Ham in September, only to enter a barren patch that lasted for the majority of the season.
Supporters weren't particularly forgiving, with many losing faith in his abilties...
Adama Traore is quick. Yes. He is also an awful footballer— keith costigan (@KeithCostigan) November 3, 2018
It is baffling that Adama Traore is a product of La Masia, let alone managed first team appearances for Barca. His technique, his control is dreadful. Literally a player based on pace and very little else— Sam Parker (@SmParker8) November 25, 2018
Adama Traore must be the worst player to ever come through la masia. Absolutely woeful— Tom Thatcher (@T_Thatch9) December 21, 2018
Adama Traore’s decision making is terrible— Philoe ™ (@PhiloeEsq) February 11, 2019

If Adama Traore had end product the debate for GOAT would be over. — Toseef 又 (@galmasv) January 14, 2019
Adama Traore makes Willian's decision making look like Maradona's. We have been linked with him few times in the past. Outrageous.— Vince™ (@Blue_Footy) March 16, 2019
If he had discipline and desire Adama Traore would be an amazing RWB.— Adrian (@ayy_deeee) April 20, 2019
Adama Traore such an odd footballer. Incredible pace but useless touch. Looks like he’d be more suited to Rugby League— Indi Virdee (@indivirdee) August 19, 2019
If Adama Traore could play football he’d be amazing— Michael D (@Galaxatron) August 19, 2019
The manager continued his tinkering in the qualifying rounds of the 2019/20 Europa League, handing the speedster a role that better suited his attributes. Traore brought his form into the domestic campaign, and suddenly he was no longer the butt-end of jokes - they were being made at the expense of his opponents...

Adama Traore will be a £100 million footballer by the end of the season.
He’s made some massive steps in his individual game this season.
Don’t think Adama Traore will be at Wolves next season, his numbers are phenomenal. He will deffo be turning the heads of clubs across Europe.— HK07 (@KewellShort) December 28, 2019
Adama Traore has been outstanding this season, we always knew he was fast but he's added the final ball to his game not to mention his partnership with Jimenez. #WOLMCI— Phil, Felipe or Philippe (@philoffcolor) December 27, 2019
Take a bow on your birthday, Adama. You're on the right path.
