A period of change is upon us at Barcelona after the ruthless sacking of Ernesto Valverde as manager.

Former Real Betis boss Quique Setien is the man that will take the club forward, and he will hope to lead the Catalan giants to yet another La Liga crown - keeping it out of the clutches of rivals Real Madrid, managed by Zinedine Zidane.

Players are likely to come and go at Camp Nou both in January and in the summer, though many will command transfer fees, rather than being let go for free. But while we're on the subject of contracts, it is worth noting that much of Barça's business could be dictated by how long certain players have left on their deals.

So here, 90min undertakes a full review of the current expiry dates of every first-team player, selected youngsters and those out on loan* – including any additional extension options the club holds…

Arda Turan

Only one player is out of contract at Camp Nou this summer, and you'd be forgiven for forgetting that this man still existed within Barcelona circles.

That's because 32-year-old Arda Turan has spent time out on loan in Turkey for two years, where things have gone a bit pear shaped. On the field for İstanbul Başakşehir, he wasn't too shabby - making 37 appearances.

But off the field, he's been arrested, charged and given a suspended two-and-a-half year sentence for firing a gun in a public place, having already assaulted and broken the nose of pop star Berkay Şahin.

While the summer of 2020 may be dull on the contract expiry front, the same can't be said for 2021 - when all hell could break loose at Barcelona.

That's because, in theory, the generally pretty good at football Lionel Messi, alongside partner in crime up front, Luis Suarez, are both set to see their rather expensive Camp Nou contracts expire. The duo require around €1m-per-week to be set aside for them in wages, but I'd wager (geddit) that they probably earn that figure and then some each and every week.

Elsewhere, Ivan Rakitic - known to many as 'Rakdaddy' - and Arturo Vidal are also out of contract, with both likely to move on - possibly before then.

Ansu Fati and Carles Pérez would appear to have very bright futures at Camp Nou, with both having blossomed in Barça's first team already.

More importantly for Setien, should he remain in charge, will be securing the future of goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen. The German is one of the best in the world, and in an ideal world, Barça will aim to tie him down for the entire decade.

Eyebrow were raised a little when Clément Lenglet was given a deal until 2023, despite his relatively young age. The Frenchman has proven to be a valuable commodity in Barcelona's defence, though, with the ongoing injury problems that have struck fellow countryman Samuel Umtiti.

Elsewhere, Sergio Busquets may be winding down his final Barcelona contract, as he'll be approaching 35 when his present deal expires.

Antoine Griezmann

Unsurprisingly, summer 2019 acquisitions Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong are both tied down for the long haul, alongside future midfield great Arthur.

There's also a 2024 left back love-in, with both Jordi Alba and Júnior Firpo committed to the Catalan heavyweights for many years to come. Like Busquets, Alba is likely on his final Barcelona deal - while Firpo will just be glad to still be at the club by that time.
