Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos is expected to miss around 15 days as he focuses on recovering from an ankle injury picked up in the Super Cup final victory over Atlético Madrid.
Ramos confessed that his ankle was 'f****d' after the game, adding that it felt so sore that he physically could not try his trademark Panenka penalty during the shootout. Fortunately, it did not stop him from stepping up and netting the winning goal.
The centre-back took to Instagram to confirm that he has already started trying to recover from the issue, posting a video of his foot in a water bath.
He was also listening to Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love. Make of that what you will.
Sport claim that Real are still waiting to hear the full extent of his injury, while Mundo Deportivo estimate that the Spaniard could be forced to miss around two weeks of action while he recovers from the issue.
Such an absence would rule Ramos out until February. Should that be the case, he would miss upcoming La Liga meetings with both Sevilla and Real Valladolid, while he may even be a doubt to face Atlético on 1 February.
In his absence,
They will certainly have wanted to be at full strength for the visit of fourth-placed Sevilla on Saturday, but Zinedine Zidane will now have to find a way to cope without Ramos.
Getting him back in time for the Madrid derby will likely be the most important thing, and you can guarantee that Ramos will be doing everything he can to ensure he is back at full fitness to face Real's bitter rivals.
