Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is set to undergo surgery on his right knee, with the forward due to visit a doctor regarding the ongoing problem that has troubled him for 'several weeks'.
Suarez has been a key figure for La Blaugrana this season, featuring 23 times so far. The Uruguayan has managed to find the back of the net 14 times in all competitions in 2019/20, while he has also contributed 11 assists.

If surgery is required, La Blaugrana could be without the forward for some time, which would be a major blow to manager Ernesto Valverde. However, Suarez is said to be 'happy' to have the operation now, with the player keen to be fit for the final part of the season.
Following Thursday's defeat, Valverde's future at the club was once again called into question. However, both Lionel Messi and Suarez offered their backing to the under-fire manager, with Suarez himself insisting that the manager doesn't carry 'any blame'.
