Gareth Bale's agent has confirmed that the forward will not be leaving Real Madrid during the current transfer window and is even unlikely to move in the summer.

The Welshman's future in Spain is always the subject of intense rumours, the latest of which suggested that both Inter Miami and LA Galaxy were attempting to work on deals to bring Bale to Major League Soccer in the near future.

However, Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has put those reports to bed, telling ESPN that the winger is 'going nowhere' in January and is also 'very unlikely' to leave the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer.

Unfortunately, you can almost guarantee that this isn't going to stop the rumour mill from churning out story after story.

Bale has managed 14 appearances for Real this season, racking up two goals and two assists in a campaign which has been plagued by a variety of injury concerns.

Not only have his numerous injury absences frustrated fans, but Bale was also whistled and booed by several supporters after he was pictured laughing with the infamous 'Wales. Golf. Madrid.' flag.

That led to plenty of questions about his future, but Real boss Zinedine Zidane has always insisted that he wants Bale to remain in his squad, despite numerous reports of a breakdown in the pair's relationship.

Alongside the two MLS sides, there have also been links to sides in the Chinese Super League, while Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur fans have again been made to suffer through the never-ending rumours.

Bale has not travelled with the rest of the squad to compete for the Spanish Supercopa in Saudi Arabia as a result of a respiratory infection, but will be hoping to recover in time to fly out and help his side in the final.
