One of Neymar's representatives has revealed that the Brazilian is open to the idea of renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, despite the forward admitting that he wanted to experience 'new challenges' in 2020.

The former Barcelona star was repeatedly linked with a return to Camp Nou last summer, with the Catalan giants understood to remain interested in bringing him back to the club in the future.

Last month though, the player insisted that PSG are his priority, rubbishing reports that linked him with a move Spain.

This seemingly never-ending transfer saga continues to roll on with a recent report form Mundo Deportivo suggesting that due to a change in financial rules that hampered their pursuit of Neymar last transfer window, Barca were in the process of conducting a €180m deal for the player. This is €42m less than the club sold him for when PSG controversially triggered his release clause in 2017.

The player potentially revealed his enthusiasm for the move at a recent Red Bull sponsorship event, by letting slip that he was on the lookout for 'new challenges' after the Copa America reaches its conclusion in July.

"My goal is to win everything I can with Paris and the Brazilian national team,” Neymar said, as reported by the Express.

“[I want to] Reach the Champions League final, win the Copa America again, find new challenges.”

Despite these quotes seemingly suggesting that he will be departing PSG in the summer, a member of Neymar's team of representatives has claimed that he is in fact open to extending his contract with the Parisians past its current 2022 expiration date.

"If PSG want to have discussions, we will listen to what they have to say. Last spring, Neymar was very close to extending his contract, and it was PSG who had been after that to happen. If the board want to have discussions, they have to come and see us,” the unnamed source told Le Parisien (via Get French Football News)

“[Neymar] is happy like he hasn’t been for a really long time… [An extension] is possible if PSG gets the results and wins. Because Neymar wants to win.”

These claims corroborate reports from earlier in the month that suggested that Neymar would be interested in remaining a PSG player if they could secure Champions League success.
