Eden Hazard has failed to recover from his injury woes ahead of Real Madrid's trip to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de España tournament next week.

Hazard picked up an ankle injury against Paris Saint-Germain at the end of November, and the Belgian star has suffered a number of setbacks on his road to recovery.

The 28-year-old was in a race to regain his fitness over the winter break, but coach Zinedine Zidane confirmed ahead of Madrid's comfortable victory over Getafe, that the winger would not travel with the team to the four-way competition.

"Hazard is ruled out of the Supercopa, I hope he's back just afterwards," Zidane explained at his pre-match press conference, as reported by Marca.

Hazard initially struggled in Spain following his big-money move from Chelsea over the summer, but the ex-Lille star had begun to find his feet for los Blancos before his injury woes.

The 28-year-old has only managed eight league appearances for Zidane's side, and he has not made an appearance of any sort since in almost six weeks. Hazard has bagged only one goal since his arrival at Santiago Bernabeu last summer.
