Juventus are keen to extend Cristiano Ronaldo's contract until 2023 - in a move which would keep the Portuguese at the club until he's 38 years old.

The superstar joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 2018 and has gone on to make 64 appearances so far for the club - scoring 40 times and providing 12 assists.

This campaign, Ronaldo has managed ten goals in just 14 Serie A appearances, while he has also managed a further two in the Champions League.

Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes recently insisted that the former Real Madrid man is 'happy' to remain at the club and work alongside manager Maurizio Sarri.

When asked if his client would end his career in Turin, Mendes replied: "Yes, I think so. He signed a contract with Juventus, he is very happy at Juventus and he is also happy with the coach. He's happy with everything."

Corriere dello Sport (via the Daily Mail) are now reporting that the club could look to renew the 34-year-old's contract until 2023.

The report notes that Ronaldo is, in fact, 'interested' in extending his contract beyond 2023 after he held talks about his future with Mendes at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, where he recently won the award for best men's player for the fourth straight year.

The forward believes he can continue to be a crucial figure for the club and Juventus' sporting director Fabio Paratici is aware of this. As a result, he is 'prepared' to offer him a three-year deal with the possibility of an additional year.

Ronaldo's current contract is set to run until the summer of 2022 and while a new deal isn't expected to see him earn a pay rise, it will extend his stay at the club by at least a further year. The contract could be signed in spring, with the club keen to wait until they have a clearer idea of what trophies they could win this campaign.

The Bianconeri's chairman Andrea Agnelli sees the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as a 'vital' presence in the dressing room and, as a result, he is hopeful of reaching a fast agreement with the player.
