Real Madrid Make Decision on Martin Odegaard Future as Norwegian Continues to Impress on Loan

Real Madrid are aiming to bring Martin Odegaard back to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer following what has so far been a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad.

The Norwegian has lit up La Liga this season with his dazzling displays this season, scoring four goals and grabbing five assists in the Spanish top flight.

But while the 21-year-old was set for another season at the Erreala, it appears Madrid would rather bring the youngster back to star for their first team,

According to Spanish publication AS, Odegaard will return in June, in spite of a second year on loan at Sociedad having been agreed.

The two clubs spoke about the Madrid player when they clashed in La Liga back in November - a game well won by Zinedine Zidane's side - and it appears there will be little resistance from Sociedad due tot their fantastic relationship with Odegaard's parent club.

The midfielder was bought by Los Blancos back in 2015 from his native Norway, and was revered as one of the best young talents in world football. However, things haven't quite gone to plan.

Following a number of loan spells to the Eredivisie for Heerenveen and Vitesse, with varying degrees of success, Odegaard has finally become the fully-fledged starlet that Real Madrid have been so desperately craving.

His stunning performances have helped Sociedad to fifth in the table and he has registered two goals and two assists in his last four matches.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid sit second in La Liga, but have underwhelmed at times this season, including three successive draws in their last three games. Los Blancos are forging a 'renewal' plan due to their ageing squad, with Luka Modric, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos and top scorer Karim Benzema all over the age of 31.

It's therefore likely that Odegaard will lead their new revolution, with the Norwegian simply awaiting the call to return to the Bernabéu this summer.
