Jonjo Shelvey has revealed that he has no plans to depart Newcastle United anytime soon, despite his contract expiring in 2021.
After a spell of indifferent form at the beginning of the season, Shelvey has been back to his influential best of late.
The 27-year-old has scored in his last three games for the Magpies, including a stunning equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in November.
His impressive form is likely to attract interest from other clubs, but Shelvey has claimed that he has no plans to depart Newcastle in the near future.
In an interview with the club's official website, the midfielder revealed that he received an offer from a team in London last January but turned it down due to family reasons.
Shelvey's performance have also attracted rave reviews on Twitter - not that the former Liverpool midfielder would know as he avoids social media.
"I think the problem with footballers nowadays (is that) they read too much into what’s been said about them.
