Juventus have become the first club to allow supporters on innovative fan voting app Socios to make a club decision – changing the Allianz Stadium's goal celebration music for the first time in eight years.
Juve fans will be able to use their club fan tokens (styled $JUV) to choose from a shortlist of songs to replace the Fratellis' Chelsea Dagger, consisting of blink-182's All The Small Things, Blur's Song 2, House of Pain's Jump Around and Boom, by Californian nu-metal legends P.O.D.
App users can pick up fan tokens for free in the Token Hunt AR feature, and can purchase more from around €2 – a number which could increase or decrease based on the exchange rate of Chiliz ($CHZ), the digital currency Socios is based upon.
Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, West Ham, Galatasaray and AS Roma will all launch their own fan token offerings early in 2020 through the app.
Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO and Founder of Chiliz & Socios.com, said: "The goal celebration song is integral to the matchday experience. For eight years, Juventus fans watching the games live at the Allianz Stadium and following the action around the world, have celebrated to the same tune. Now they have the opportunity to choose the next crowd anthem.
“When Juventus fans decide on the new goal celebration song, they will make history by becoming the first supporters of any team to take part in the club-decision making process through Fan Tokens. That makes us incredibly proud. Our purpose, our ‘raison d'être’, is to give fans the chance to get closer to the clubs they love.
"There’s 423 million Juventus fans around the world who now have that opportunity. And, as well as giving fans the chance to make their voice heard, we’ve also created a powerful new communication channel for the club, allowing them to better understand, recognise and reward their global fanbase.
“Voting begins today - Juventus fans who want to get involved and take part in the decision-making process should download Socios.com and get their Fan Tokens now.”
