Parma host AC Milan in Serie A this weekend, as they look to gain momentum for their push for a European place.

The home side are four points ahead of their opponents and will be hoping to extend the gap further against a Milan side completely devoid of confidence. Parma are unbeaten in three league games, including a 2-0 victory over Roma, and are rising up the table.

Milan are sinking without a trace and sit just four points above the relegation zone. A run of two wins from ten has seen the former European champions free-fall down the table, without any signs that things will turn around.

Team News

Roberto Inglese has missed out on Parma's previous five matches, and looks set to sit out again after suffering a distortion of the ankle during his side's 5-1 victory over Genoa in October. Yann Karamoh will miss Milan's visit as he continues to nurse a torn lateral collateral ligament, which has kept him out for two matches.

Andreas Cornelius and Matteo Scozzarella will also both miss out with injury, while Luca Siligardi is banned until 31st December.

Riccardo Gagliolo

Leo Duarte is a certainty to the trip to Parma, as the defender recovers from ankle surgery, while Samu Castillejo remains a doubt after missing his side's last two games.

Fabio Borini has also sat out of Milan's last two games as the Italian winger works his way back from a muscular problem, while Ricardo Rodriguez will remain sidelined.

Predicted Lineups

ParmaSepe; Darmian, Alves, Dermaku, Iacoponi, Gagliolo; Barilla, Poli, Kulusevski; Sprocati, Kucka.
AC MilanDonnarumma; Conti, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Paqueta, Biglia, Krunic; Rebic, Piatek, Bonaventura.

Head-to-Head Record

Despite the fact that Milan are plummeting down the table, they have a good record against Parma. The away side have won 14 of the 21 clashes between the two, only losing three times. Although a lot has happened between the two clubs since their first meeting, a record like this could give Milan the confidence that they need.

Giacomo Bonaventura

In their last five encounters, Milan have won on three occasions, including a 5-4 victory at Parma. They have only lost once, but their last meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, with the home side equalising late on. Without a win against their opponents in five matches, spanning across five and a half years, Parma will have to be at their best.

Recent Form

Both sides are fighting very different battles in Serie A, despite only four points separating them. Milan have lost three out of their last five games, albeit against stronger opponents – but they have not won away from home since early October, when they beat Genoa 2-1.

Although Parma have only managed one victory in their last five matches, they have also only lost once. A victory against Roma and a draw against Inter will have filled the side with confidence ahead of this fixture, where I Crociati can push on and move into a European spot.

Here's how both teams have fared in their last five matches.

ParmaAC Milan
Bologna 2-2 Parma (24/11)AC Milan 1-1 Napoli (23/11)
Parma 2-0 Roma (10/11)Juventus 1-0 AC Milan (10/11)
Fiorentina 1-1 Parma (03/11)AC Milan 1-2 Lazio (03/11)
Parma 0-1 Verona (29/10)AC Milan 1-0 SPAL (31/10)
Inter 2-2 Parma (26/10)Roma 2-1 AC Milan (27/10)

Although Parma are not winning matches, they also are not losing. Their opponents, on the other hand, are losing. With Parma being the home side, they will certainly be the favourites.

Andreas Cornelius,Gervinho

Milan have faced difficult opponents in recent weeks and their confidence will be shot, so all signs would point to this being a win for Parma.

Prediction: Parma 1-0 AC Milan
