Arsenal have provided injury updates on five of their first-team players ahead of Sunday's meeting with Norwich City, including the latest news on both David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi, both of whom were injured against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

The Gunners were short on defenders even before Thursday's game, failing to name a single defender on their bench. Luiz was forced off in the first half with a rib injury, before Mustafi added to their woes when he picked up a foot injury late in the game.

Writing on their official website, the club confirmed that both players will face late fitness tests ahead of the game against Norwich, but neither injury is believed to be too severe.

Right-back Héctor Bellerín also missed the 2-1 loss to Frankfurt with a slight hamstring issue, and he is also set to be assessed shortly before Sunday's game to see whether he is ready to return.

However, one player who will definitely not be able to feature is Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos, who has been sidelined with his own hamstring injury ever since the 1-1 draw with Vitória Guimarães on 6 November.

The Spaniard is aiming to return to training in the middle of December, which suggests Arsenal fans might not see Ceballos in action for the remainder of 2019.

Fortunately, it is not all doom and gloom for Arsenal, who will be able to welcome Sead Kolašinac back into the mix. The left-back missed the last two games because of yet another hamstring issue, but is now available for selection.

Finding a solution to these defensive struggles will be one of interim manager Freddie Ljungberg's first tests. The former winger stepped up to fill the void left by Unai Emery, who was relieved of his duties on Friday in the aftermath of the defeat to Frankfurt.

The Gunners are without a win in their last seven league games in all competitions and have fallen to eighth in the Premier League.
